We are delighted to be exclusively supporting our Newcastle based client in the search for a Financial Accountant to join their lovely team on a permanent basis.

This role has a salary of up to £45,000 and involves hybrid working and flexible start and finish times.

The role:

Suited to someone who is self-motivated and able to work closely within a small close-knit Finance team, you’ll be ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience. You will need effective communication skills, be highly capable of planning and multi-tasking and ready to hit the ground running.

Your key duties will include:

• To ensure effective communications within and between teams, be involved in and participate in meetings as requested.

• To support the Finance Director and Finance Team in providing a comprehensive accounts service.

• Financial reporting.

• Oversee Sales & Purchase Ledger.

• Carry out detailed VAT checks monthly and complete and submit quarterly VAT returns.

• Oversee payroll finances and liaise with HR.

• Cash Flow forecasting.

• Oversee Balance sheet accounts with monthly reconciliation.

• System implementation.

• Liaise with internal & external auditors over the final/interim audits – Ensure all the required reports are produced for audit purposes, including the production of draft annual accounts and reconciliations.

What you need:

• Educated to a degree level or equivalent.

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.

• Good understanding of accounting principles including balance sheet reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals and prepayments.

• At least three years’ experience financial accounts experience.

• The ability to work under pressure to achieve targets.

• Excellent IT skills, including the proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically relating to Excel, Outlook, Word and Powerpoint.
